Are you a bit cuddly, got some very unsightly cellulite and would like to see it disappear? Now you have a chance to improve your body shape without invasive surgery and the boring following recovery period.
The latest therapy in re-shaping the is a weird combination of infa-red heat, massage rollers, bi-polar radio frequency and, strangely, a vacuum. It goes by the name of Velasmooth and it’s the latest thing in the fight against cellulite. It has recently been approved by the FDA for use in cellulite reduction so that would indicate that it is a worthwhile product to consider, as long as you make yourself aware of its limitations.
Basically, it works by transmitting infa-red light and radio waves, which warms up the fat cells. This also has a knock on effect that increases the metabolic rate of the cells which normally leads to a slight reduction of them, resulting in a reshaping of the contour. The vacuum and massage really kneads and pummels the skin, lifting the fat cells nearer the surface where the warmth really works on them.
The outcome is a firmer, more contoured and toned body shape. It can even reduce the circumference of your thighs.
This may seem an amazing thing but it does have limitations. It is absolutely no substitute for liposuction, overweight people cannot lose weight with this process, although they can benefit from some reshaping.
It’s really good for working on troubled areas like saddle-bag thighs and the old love handles and it is a great quick fix for women who want to get their body back into shape after giving birth. This really works for women with wobbly bits but it doesn’t work so well if you have a firmer more toned body.
You will normally need at least four treatments at weekly intervals and then a top up every couple months or more, depending on the body. Changing to a more healthy diet will help to prolong the treatment. The initial treatment will cost $1500. If you think that is expensive, it will cost around £1,750 in London.
Although there is very little recovery time, unlike liposuction, some people have reported that it can be quite painful and there will be redness and possible bruising after treatment. This usually reduces after each subsequent visit.
This is no substitute for losing weight but it could be a fantastic method to get an improved body shape when you have an important occasion.
